Hey there everyone. Jus thought I would pop in and give you all a lil sneak peak into what's in the works for me over at Silk's Vault. I know I told you that they contracted my novels. Well, I'm pretty sure I also promised I would give you all a blurb and excerpt when I had the chance. WELL... here is the 411 on my crime/romance novel.
BLURB: Miami is a very busy place, especially for undercover FBI agent Michael Walker. He’s been asked to go back to the place he was raised to infiltrate back into his best friend’s operation, in order to take him down. However, there were some things that he hadn’t considered when he’d taken this assignment, like Bianca Martinez. She’s not the scrawny, little girl he remembered. She’s all grown up now.
Manny Pascual is more than happy to have his best friend back in the business, and immediately puts Michael to work. However, they’ve got bigger problems; the FBI is getting close to uncovering the real operation behind the family business. Will the years of friendship between these three factor in as they find themselves between the tightening vice of rivaling families and the hard fist of the law?
UNEDITED EXCERPT:
…Ricky shook his head and laughed, “Are you shitting me? I know for a fact that Manny would love to have you back, especially now. I heard through the grape vine that the cousins have been complaining about being overworked, they want to get another man on the team.” Ricky was never one to keep secrets very well. Everyone knew better than to tell him anything of any importance.
Is that so Michael smiled, what a freakin’ break. “Thanks for the info, but I have to think about it.” He was trying to seem unsure about the whole thing. He knew that his presence in Miami wouldn’t be a secret for much longer, not that it ever was to begin with. All Michael had to worry about now was how long it would take before Ricky ran into someone to blab it all to.
“I have to get back on my rounds, but don’t leave without saying good-bye.” He got up and shook Michael’s hand before heading back downstairs. Being the owner he had to be sure everything was running smoothly from all aspects. He liked to be very hands on.
Michael got up from the couch and head over to the railing to look over at the dance floor. He wanted to get a good view of all the action and he wanted to check out what was going on in every little corner his vision would allow him to see. He had a keen eye, and wanted to be sure he wasn’t taken by surprise on anything. He noticed all the entrances and exits, the restrooms, Ricky’s office, the bouncers, the bartenders, and the cocktail waitresses in the Lounge. He made mental notes on everything and everyone, trying to be as discreet and accurate as possible.
As he scanned back over to the main entrance he saw Ricky talking to the most amazing looking woman he had ever seen. She was wearing tight black leather pants and a black leather jacket with spike heeled boots, under her jacket was peeking through a royal blue lace bra, and she wore her long brown hair straight and flowing down her back. Michael was in a trance that only got worse when he saw she was walking towards the spiral staircase to the Lounge. He felt all nervous as he went back to his corner couch. Who is that, and how can I find out? Duh! You’re an agent you idiot, you know how to find out. Or you could just offer to buy her a drink…
“Ricky told me you were here, but I had to see it with my own eyes,” said the sultry voice of the mystery woman in leather.
My God she looks even better up close. Those curves could get me killed. “I’m sorry, but do we know each other?” Michael stood before her, but could not believe he could forget such a beautiful face.
“Hmmmm, how quickly they forget,” she teased as she took a seat on the couch a few inches away from him and crossed her legs, “of course, I was only 15 when you left.” She gave him a big smile and hoped he remembered her. She didn’t remember him looking this good when he left. He had definitely changed for the better. She could see his muscles through his silk shirt, and his smiling eyes danced straight to her heart.
“Oh my God, Bianca?” Michael was in total shock as he sat back down. The frail 15 year old he had left all those years ago had turned into this beautiful creature. If he had only known back then, but she was always off limits and protected by Manny. Michael respected that and always treated her like the little sister he never had, but man did he want to break all those rules now.
“So, are you happy to see me?” she beamed while checking the expression on his face.
“Very.”…
Lemme know what you all think of it if you have a chance. I'm pretty nervous about it. As soon as I have a cover for it, I'll post it here.
